It was clear that Joan Barreda would attack with his Honda HRC in the second stage of the Dakar Rally, the longest in test and so it was, taking the win and the lead on teammate Paulo Goncalves.

Joan Barreda: “It has been a hell. The last kilometers have been torture. We were already tired. This last stretch has required a great physical effort. You had to stay very focused. During the first kilometers, Sam has been very strong, but we have remained calm. But we also wanted to keep pace to not detach ourselves from the group in front. Paulo Gonçalves (HRC) and Ruben Faria (KTM) have reached more than 6 and 9 minutes, respectively of the Castellón, occupying the stage podium, while Jordi Viladoms (KTM) has been fourth.
