Ever heard about Schengen Visa? Probably not because in slang, it has been replaced with any other names. Well, if you are an intellectual student and want to continue a degree in a foreign land, you might need to get about this particular visa as it will be one of your major requirements to travel, live and study.

What does Schengen Visa mean?

In a simple language, it stands for a Travel Visa. But, it is much more than that. This visa is used for traveling, doing business, transit, education, etc.

You would be needing it for multiple reasons, that is why it comes in a variety of types. You can apply for the particular Schengen Visa as per your demand, need, or requirement.

Schengen Visa allows you to travel to all the European Union states. Now you know why it is called with this such a difficult name? Because having this visa means you can travel within Schengen Areas.

  • You can apply for the single-entry Schengen visa which lets you enter the Schengen Area only once.
  • Another option is a double-entry visa that will allow you to enter twice.
  • The last option is a multiple entry visa as it permits your legal entry to the Schengen area as many times as you want but within the validity years.

Schengen Visa Validity

Now, the question is how long it will be applicable means stay valid? Its validity remains for 90 days collective stay within the Schengen Area in the period of a total of 180 days. It stays applicable for 1-5years. The absolute time varies as per the sort of visa you possess. But remember, validity years are not subjected to change means it cannot surpass the termination of the person’s passport.

Well, the good news is that a visa can be subjected to change means extension. But, you must provide solid proof of your claim. Once it has been renewed, the holder will lose its credibility to work. Plus, one of the major drawbacks of the Schengen Visa is that it does not include the Residence Permit, regardless of the state.

Schengen Visa Countries

Before applying for the Schengen Visa, you must know for which countries you will be getting the permission. So, basically, you will be granted to travel to 26 countries of Europe that are included in the Schengen Visa Agreement.

Besides these enlisted 26 countries, other 19 states permit the visa holders to visit them without needing any specific national visa. If you are living in France, you will get the Schengen Visa easier in comparison to other states.
