Only real novelty catalog since the Suzuki Inazuma 250 in 2012 and especially the GSR750 in 2011, the Suzuki V-Strom 1000 was more than expected at the turn by fans of the brand and large road trails.
We took in the handlebar for a week, just to see if Suzuki has kept its promises
The Suzuki V-Strom 1000 in the city
Adorned for enquiller kilometers and go on an adventure, the V-Strom is also suitable for navigation in urban jungle. It starts with a straight position very natural and little binding which allows the big Suzuki trail as we see fit, even at low speed. With a height of 850mm saddle, the V-Strom does not apply to short on legs but, once on the handlebar, the whole is very easy to grip. The turning radius is appreciable and despite a rather imposing stencil, the lifts of files will not be an ordeal. The box does to call any particular criticism and the engine, horsepower, and flexible is ideal for sneaking into traffic. Point however embarrassing, the footrests are located stack at the level of the legs when you are stationary. What force to grossly spreading the legs to find a good support. The stand is a real joy to go get the foot both found easily.

There again, the novelty of Hamamatsu demonstrates its versatility. With its adjustable bubble very easily on three positions, coverage will be ample to unreasonable speeds. The position is anything but tiring and the saddle does not martyr sera your buttocks as the kilometers pass. The autonomy of the reservoir is also a good thing to consider calmly travel with relieved consumption to an honest 6, 8l / 100km despite the good train of our test.
Suzuki V-Strom 1000 at Regular Road
Finally what give space to a bike that calls for it. Whip, the V-Strom will surprise its driver with sports skills in the form of ‘bonus’ to the versatility of the machine. The Suzuki readily accepts late braking, well helped by from calipers cousin GSX – r and effective adjustable suspensions, and resumes with joyfulness with a twin-cylinder péchu from the bottom of the account-tour. Needless however to take him to the switch. The arrival of electronics with an adjustable traction-control will provide additional security to the driver which may also choose to wrap quietly and enjoy the scenery without getting tired. The V-Strom can do everything. We regret however a too muffled exhaust sounds.
Suzuki V-Strom 1000 Drive with Passenger
Excellent in absolute terms, the level of comfort offered by the V-Strom in his passenger is slightly from below of our hopes. Vibrations are felt in footrests that are also placed a little too high, forcing him to a position a bit into a “Toad”. There is nothing comparable to what can be found on a sports car or a roadster obviously. The saddle is a little firm but the passenger handles are impeccable.
Quality of presentation of Suzuki V-Strom 1000
For US$ 17098, one is entitled to expect a neat finish and this is the case. The line is in the era of time, well-built motorcycle and flattering equipment. We appreciate the 12 volt outlet but it regretted the lack of a small handheld vacuum.
