The new Triumph Commander adds a touch of versatility to the concept of sports custom initiated with the Thunderbird 1600. With its overturned fork, welcoming double optical cheap Shockley, its many chrome, its massive tires and the largest parallel twin of the current production, the order required. But despite this look of thick gross, Triumph has also wanted to focus on licensing and driving comfort.
Thus, the Triumph Commander adopts a thick seat foam double density, providing rare comfort and support on custom niche. However, the seat remains low, in order to put the massive cruiser accessible to the greatest number. The driver benefits from wide running boards aluminum and also wide handlebars, overlooking a large 22 liter fuel tank.
The steering geometry has been revised to improve the maneuverability of the craft despite the front tire of 140 mm. The fork is a Showa 47 mm in diameter, adjustable pre-load on five positions.
Braking is entrusted to three 310 mm discs with Nissin calipers 4-piston front and single-piston rear. ABS is standard. The engine is that of the Triumph Thunderbird Storm 1700: a huge long twin race 1,699 CC rated at 93 HP to 5 400 rpm for 15, 1daN.m 3550 rpm of torque. The Triumph Commander will be available in two colors (Lava Red / Crimson Sunset and Phantom Black / Storm Grey) in the spring of 2014.
