ACE is based on the relationship of long standing between Ariel and Honda, which began with the Ariel atom. The new moto features a 1237cc Honda V4 engine and drive system combine the best of high and low values of engineering, materials and volume as well as the production of a system of construction that has never been seen on a motorcycle production.

The unique way in which Ariel builds vehicles can be adjusted every moto and equipped with the individual choices of the clients to them exactly the bike they want and customize for their own use and taste. Low drive Cruiser, through machines of streets and nudes, super sport bikes Ace will be built on the specific requirements and desires of the owners. This unique approach draws interest of motorcyclists by individualizing their machines and what makes them unique. With the ACE will be a great number of options available at the command of the motorcycle that give each of them to be built a staff, but they carefully designed and a coherent result. Variants of the front and rear suspension, seats of high and low with passenger options, various sizes of tank, steering wheel, wheels, exhaust, body shops, etc., besides colors, finishes and materials, a list of options will be extended to ensure that each Ace bicycle unique to the owner.

Simon Saunders, Director of Ariel, “motorcyclists have a real passion for their machines. They they are individually, and they want them not only their bikes, are other identical to hundreds or thousands of others. The usual route is to buy a standard bicycle and add the different components of alternatives for changing the bike in what they want. However is uniqueness with the ACE built because the bicycle is produced and each as individual as the owner one will.

“The first pictures show only two different possibilities of specification for the bike, but the combinations are almost endless and we plan to continue to add other options in the future. In Ariel once we understand that the customer wants, whatever it is, we can build the bike that they need.

Each Ace motorcycle will be rubbed by a technician of Ariel in a Bay individual building, as with the Atom sports car, provides customers with a much greater degree of personal relationship with the building of their bike and the person, build on the point of being able to visit their bike in the building. Only when a technician Ariel is convinced that the bike will be earning her personal paper model and pass through the testing and final inspection. Said James “Reg” Feiven, Technician Chief on Ariel and a part of the Ace design team, “almost every employee has Ariel on a full motorcycle license and we are passionate about motorcycles in all their forms, as well as quality.” The only pressure that we during the building of an Ariel, a motorcycle or a car, is to make sure that he is absolutely right. “And one of the best rewards we have is to see the smile on the faces of customers when they come to collect.”

The Ace is also evolving over a period of time. Ariel as owners their bikes can return to the factory where the upgrades,

Ariel Ace motorcycle Frame

Heart of the ACE is an aluminum frame machined from a solid billet with welded construction that affects all fixing points in different variants of the Ace sub frame, fuel tank, body and suspension options. Never before seen on a production motorcycle follows the detailed study and beauty of functional form apparent in the frame a tradition founded by Ariel with the Atom.

The load bearing frame stiffness, which is larger than industry standards, carries the engine, different seat packages, front and rear suspension, as well as a safety cell provides the fuel tank. Made of 6 individual billet aluminum sections that each frame more than 70 hours to be welded to each other machine takes before. Each frame is then anodized for protection and different color finishes are available to increase options and frame to individualize each bike. The common framework can also upgrades and changes are made to the Ace throughout its life.

Different main corners, removable eccentric, taking into account holders are attainable to the incline for different applications of 21.8 degrees to 28.4 degrees, with a standard halfway 25.1 degrees for neutral treatment to match. Head angle is set by Ariel during build or can be changed when the bicycle is maintained.

Ariel Ace motorcycle Engine and transmission

The bait used the Honda VFR1200 V4 Unicam engine building on the relationship that for the first time seen in the Ariel Atom which uses a Honda Type R engine. The most famous was the four cylinder motorcycle previous Ariel Square 4 introduced as a 500cc in 1930 is developing into a 997cc machine on which production is completed in 1959. The use of the transverse, water cooled V4 Honda 76 degree builds on this tradition four cylinder and was chosen for its strength, flexibility, compact size and advanced technology. On 129Nm of torque and with 1237cc 173bhp and the V4 gives huge performance but remains within the ability of the average rider. Throttle by wire technology has merged with Ariels fuel mapping and intake system to progressive and responsive power delivery give throughout the Rev range. An important addition is the singular V4 exhaust note released by Ariels different exhaust systems make the Ace an auditory as well as visible delight.

The Honda VFR engine also gives the possibility to the ACE Ariel in the manual and Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) form add still further to the choice of the customer. The 6 speed sequential manual offers standard motorcycle transmission while the DCT version can be used in the fully ‘ Car ‘, ‘ Sport ‘ or ‘ manual ‘ push button mode. This combined with the Honda shaft drive system mean absolutely choice plus total peace of mind for Ace riders and the Ariel total reliability that customers have come to expect. A 6 speed sport bike to a fully automatic long distance Cruiser can provide the bait.

Ariel Ace motorcycle Suspension

The Ace features front suspension options telescopic forks and the unique Ariel girder front end. Manufactured from machined aluminum which the Ariel girder forks give an option to standard Telescopic fork that result in better handling, feeling and sensitivity, but at the same time feels familiar every motorcyclist. Due to the multi taking into account the top and bottom suspension arms, compliance is much improved and station reduced over conventional telescopic forks better answer over different road surfaces and curves and during braking to the corners.

As an all new suspension system the challenge for Ariel was designing the girder fork suspension system to feel familiar for motorcycle riders. To reach these kinematics (movement of the wheel via the travel) and this wheel rate (spring rate measured on wheel contact patch) had to closely match that of a telescopic front fork suspension system. Although it is a completely new and unconventional system therefore reassuring that the familiar to a rider telescopic forks used to feel. With the latest Ohlins TTX shocks that separate rebound and compression damping, spring preload, can offer along with the Ariel-beam to be set up by owners to the exact level of reply provide for their own specific needs and driving style.

If you want to give customers the option of further choice to Ariel Ohlins Road Track are available, customized telescopic forks & created especially for the Ace. Optimized weight and offer ultimate performance Ohlins inverted telescopic units with rebound, compression and spring adjustment, tunable come for the use of the bicycle. As with the girder

To give further choice to Ariel customers the option of Ohlins Road & Track telescopic forks are available, tailored specifically for the Ace. Offering optimized weight and ultimate telescopic fork performance the Ohlins units come with rebound, compression and spring adjustment, tunable for the use of the bike. As with the girder forks the head angle is adjustable in build or at service to provide different levels of steering response according to use and customer wishes.

Rear suspension is by Pro Link single sided cast aluminium swing arm, containing the shaft drive, with options of different gas damper. Again an Ohlins option with compression, rebound and spring adjustment is available tuned specifically to the Ace. Both front and rear suspension are further tunable by Ariel to provide different heights, spring rates and special use requests.

Wheels, brakes and tires of Ariel Ace motorcycle

Front brakes are dual Nissin floating 320mm discs with 6 hydraulic pistons while the rear are 276mm disc Nissin 2-piston (more than a DCT transmission parking brake). All versions of the Ace have electronic ABS brakes with switchable traction control. Options of Brembo brakes will be available when the Ace between production and final testing once were closed. Goodridge hose and fittings are used throughout the Ace for all lines of brake and clutch with an option of light fittings and Goodridge Kevlar.

The wheels are five and seven spoke alloy with BST wheels option to full carbon fibre and aluminium light specially designed for the ACE. Carbon wheels showed a gain over 50% weight alloy wheels and centralize the weight due to the lighter rim, which improves performance and handling.

All the ACEs will come with a choice of Dunlop tires. With an association dating back to 1895 when Dunlop and Ariel actually share trademarks and manufactured bicycles, it is particularly appropriate that the relationship must be revived with the Ace. While Dunlop continued to focus on the production of tires that Ariel focused cycles before moving on to motor vehicles a few years later, then the cars and motorcycles. Depends on the use of each bike Ariel can choose a wide range of Dunlop in function use tires and purpose of each bike. Bikes on the photo are equipped with qualifier ll and GP Racer GPD211 tires, used to huge success in TT races this year.

Ariel Ace motorcycle Bodywork

In the center of the Ace, modularity is the interchangeable bodywork and seats. Various bodywork is available with different tanks, mudguards, huggers, covers radiator, hooves, screens and fascia’s. Instruments and electronics

Instrumentation is via a Race technologies LCD dash, also found on the Atom. The instruments are equipped with programmable gearshift lights plus multi-screen information can be set and pushed through by the rider. Control buttons are on the left side of the Ace behind the head. Readouts for RPM, speed, oil pressure, temperature, voltage, ambient temperature and water with extra fuel warning lights for ABS, traction, indicator, low fuel consumption, main beam and neutral plus alarm clock system give the rider a master page information on all aspects of the bike. Another possibility is the addition of a data logger that performance in real time as well as log on can show in a built-in SD card.

The Honda HISS (Honda ignition Security System) is used on the ACE, along with an important steering lock activated. Further Tracker systems are available as options on the bike. Switchable traction control and electronically controlled ABS are both standard on the Honda VFR just as a standard diagnosis and allow connections service service functions to quickly and efficiently run.

All lighting on the Ace will be led, with a 140 mm headlight with cutting edge optics, which mimic natural sunlight, housed in a lightweight, die cast aluminum housing. Tail, brake lights and indicators are also driven for better performance and longer life led. Battery and electronic components are housed under the seat and tank units.

Further developments

Parts, auto body, tuning parts and accessories will be further developed as part of an ongoing ACE design and engineering to expand program options.
